Dystopian science fiction, title and publication date TBA. Lacey, an impoverished single mother of one, is having a rotten enough day when an explosion rocks Cleveland, Ohio, and a neon green gas spreads. Shelter-in-place orders be damned, she has to pick up her son from daycare before she can begin to navigate the crisis.
But when she arrives at the right place, no one’s to be found, and she commences a frantic search. Her search is made harder by curious symptoms, stemming from her prolonged exposure to the gas, and comes to an abrupt halt when she and others are abducted by two men.
Rel works at the secluded, opulent house at 34 Overbrook that throws exclusive auctions, not that she or others who work there are permitted to ask what buyers buy. The longer she works there, the more curious she becomes about the man who gives the orders and the auctions at night.
These women’s journeys collide in a seminal moment where they must fight to confront those who wield power to commit unspeakable acts.
